Live devices
Keep iOS and Android beside your conversation, on simulators and connected phones.
Read the guideInspect and annotate
Select an element or a screen region and give your agent the context for the change.
Read the guideApp and device controls
Open deep links, set permissions, change appearance, and test slower networks.
Read the guideNative and app logs
Follow iOS, Android, and Metro logs, then send the relevant error to your agent.
Read the guidePerformance recordings
Record CPU, memory, and supported device Display FPS over the interaction you want to understand.
Read the guideProfile analysis
Explore CPU and React profiles with TraceSift, and investigate selected frames with your agent.
Read the guideApp storage
Inspect files, databases, and key-value stores. Watch changes while you use your app.
Read the guideYour existing stack
Use your app’s own build tools with Expo, React Native, SwiftUI, and native projects.

[03] Performance
Performance profiling Using the right tools
Ask your agent to run an interaction and record CPU, memory, and device-wide Display FPS on supported devices. Review the results together.
For CPU and React profiles, TraceSift adds a call tree, timeline, and flame graph you can explore together.

[05] FAQ
Frequently asked questions
- Which environments can I use?
- Codex, Claude, and Cursor have host packages. Other compatible MCP clients can connect to the server; embedded device panels require MCP Apps support.
- Is this only for React Native?
- No. Use Mobile Dev with Expo, React Native, SwiftUI, and other native mobile apps. React Native inspection connects to an existing Metro server.
- Can I use a real phone?
- Yes. Connect iPhones and iPads through Xcode, or Android devices through authorized USB or wireless debugging. Available controls depend on the platform and device.
- What do I need installed?
- An Apple Silicon Mac, plus Xcode for iOS or Android SDK tools for Android. iOS simulators need Xcode 26 or later; physical iOS discovery needs Xcode 27 or later.
- Does Mobile Dev build my app?
- Your agent uses the project’s existing build tools. Mobile Dev supplies the device view, app controls, inspection, logs, performance, and storage tools.
- What telemetry is collected?
- Plugin telemetry includes errors and aggregate plugin performance. App logs, screenshots, input, storage contents, and device recordings are excluded. Read the privacy guide for details and opt-out.
